Clean kitchen tips

  • Washing baking tray with Scotch-Brite™ Heavy Duty Dishwand
  • Keep dirty dishes at bay

It's easy to put a dish in the sink when you’re done using it and walk away. But throughout the day, your sink will quickly fill up, which means those stuck-on messes will begin to accumulate.

To help you avoid that mess, one option is to head to load the dishwasher or hand wash any dishes before you got to bed. Running a cycle at night will ensure you have clean dishes ready for the next day, instead of a sink full of dirty ones.

  • How to clean kitchen countertops using wipes

Kitchen countertops and tables are often in contact with food and can harbour bacteria and other microorganisms that can cause illness. Regular cleaning can help prevent the build-up of these harmful substances and help maintain a clean and hygienic environment.

When using Scotch-Brite™ wipes to clean surfaces, start by wiping the surface in one direction, such as from left to right. Then, wipe the surface in the opposite direction, such as from right to left. This technique helps to ensure that you cover the entire surface and avoid missing any spots.

  • How to clean kitchen appliances

There’s nothing like cooking a fresh, healthy meal in a sparkling kitchen. Cooking doesn’t seem all that daunting when the counters have been scrubbed and appliances have been polished. Use these tips for cleaning your appliances to help them last for longer. Don’t forget to clean the inside of the appliances too!

    • Oven – First, remove the oven racks and clean them with soap and a Scotch-Brite® Heavy Duty Scrub Sponge. Then, mix 120 g of baking soda with 3 tablespoons of water in a bowl. Spread the paste with gloved hands on all non-heating surfaces and corners of your oven. Now leave it for 12 hours.
Finally, dampen a Scotch-Brite® Non-Scratch Scrub Sponge to remove the paste. Spray any remaining paste with distilled white vinegar until it foams. Use a damp sponge to remove, adding vinegar and water as you go, until the oven is spotless.

    • Microwave – Cleaning the inside of a microwave can be a hassle. First, saturate a Scotch-Brite® Non-Scratch Scrub Sponge with water or white vinegar, place it in the microwave and set the timer for 3 - 4 minutes. Let it sit for a few minutes to allow the steam to loosen up the grime. Then, wipe it clean with the sponge you rinsed while the steam was doing its part.

  • How to keep walls in the kitchen clean

Anyone who cooks regularly in the kitchen knows just how easy it is for messes to get everywhere, including on the walls. If not dealt with straight away, these stains can dry on and become harder to remove.

With Scotch-Brite® Magic Pad it’s easy to remove stains, marks, and dirt from almost any surface. No chemicals or detergents are needed, simply add water. These melamine pads can be used for so many applications, whether it’s cleaning those persistent handprints that appear on the walls, removing the marks and scuffs left by shoes on floors or even the shoes themselves. They’re also great for removing coloured wax marks, lime, and rust stains.

You cook, you eat, and you put your dishes and cookware in the sink. All is done. Or so you think. Without a blink, crumbs, scraps, and other food particles managed to escape to the floor. It’s easy to overlook as they collect in the corners and under the tables of your home.

Getting into a daily sweeping routine is an excellent, and easy, way to keep your floors clean. Not only will your home be cleaner, and better looking for when visitors drop by, you’ll also minimise floor accidents while giving yourself a nice aerobic activity.

Having trouble sweeping into a new routine? Try putting music on. With your favourite tunes blaring around you, you’ll get an urge to get up and move, so why not grab a broom and groove?
